Ahmedabad: Rs 8.84 crore property tax rebate for Bopal-Ghuma residentsAHMEDABAD: The city civic body has so far issued 40,000 property tax bills for the financial year 2021-22 to the residents of Bopal-Ghuma municipality which was merged with the AMC in 2021.

The civic body has announced a discount for the newly added areas such as the Bopal-Ghuma municipality, and the gram panchayats of Sanathal, Vishalpur, Aslali, Geratnagar, and Khodiyar. Under the scheme, 75% discount will be given on 2021-22 bills, 50% on 2022-23 bills, and 25% on 2023-24 bills.

The tax discount on the bills issued so far totals Rs 8.84 crore. “Citizens of Bopal-Ghuma who have received their bills have already started paying property taxes,” said Jainik Vakil, the chairman of the AMC’s revenue committee. “We are encouraging residents to take benefit of this discount scheme and pay their taxes.”

This scheme is applicable to properties that were already on records of the municipality or gram panchayats before their areas were merged with the AMC. Properties that were not on record and will be issued tax bills for the first time are not covered under this scheme.
